PRJ: Unexpected Results Using Generic/Text Only Driver
This article was previously published under Q112325
In Microsoft Project, if you are using the Generic/Text Only printer
driver, you may experience any of the following problems when you print
your document or when you view it in print preview:
- When you print your project or view it in print preview, more pages than necessary are used to print or display the document.
-or- - When you print a Gantt chart, task bars are not printed (although they appear in print preview) or you receive the following error message:
There is not enough printable space available on the page
These problems are by design of the Generic printer driver. For example,
task bars are not printed because the printer driver only prints text.
If you are printing a project with three one-day tasks, the project may be
printed on up to three pages. These excess printed pages occur because the
driver allocates extra space between task rows.
To resolve the problems, Use a driver specific to the printer you are
printing to.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
