PRJ: Milestone Task Bar Shows as Entire Day in Calendar View

This article was previously published under Q113155

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, when you view a milestone task in the Calendar view, the task bar for the milestone task displays across an entire day, even though a milestone task has a duration of 0d.

CAUSE

In the Calendar view, you cannot select start and end shapes in the Bar Styles dialog box like you can in the Gantt Chart view. Because of this, tasks in the Calendar view can only be displayed as a bar, and a milestone task bar displays across the entire width of a day.

NOTE: Although you cannot change the length of the task bar for a milestone task, you can change the format of the bar--such as the color, style, and pattern.
