PRJ: Gantt Bar Names Truncated to First 51 Characters
This article was previously published under Q113338
In Microsoft Project, when you edit Gantt bar styles, although you can
enter more than 51 characters for bar names, only the first 51 characters
entered are actually retained.
Note that a similar 51-character limit exists for the text in the Show
For...Tasks column. Note also that if the last entry in the Show
For...Tasks column after truncating the list to 51 characters is still
valid, Microsoft Project will retain that entry. For example, if you enter
a list of conditions such that the "0" in Flag10 is the fifty-second
character, the result will be a list ending with Flag1.
There is a 51-character limit for bar names.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Project listed above.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
