FIX: Print button in preview does not respect the FOR clause in Visual FoxPro for Windows 5.0
This article was previously published under Q157953
In Visual FoxPro 5.0 the Print button in the Report Preview toolbar does
not respect the FOR clause or Scope statement in the REPORT FORM <report
name> FOR expression PREVIEW command.
Use the SET FILTER TO command instead of the FOR clause or Scope statement.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. This problem has been fixed in
Visual FoxPro 5.0a.
Steps to Reproduce Behavior
- Create a report in Report Designer.
- Add the \Samples\Data\Customer.dbf table to the DataEnvironment.
- Add a couple of fields from the customer table to the report.
- Save the report as Test.frx and close the Report Designer.
- In the Command window, type the following:
REPORT FORM TEST FOR Country = "USA" PREVIEW.
NOTE: The Preview window comes up with only those records that have
Country = "USA."
- Now click on the Print icon in the Preview toolbar.
The entire report prints out instead of only those records that have
Country = "USA."
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Visual FoxPro 5.0 Standard Edition

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
