SYMPTOMS

When you participate in a NetMeeting conference, Windows NT may stop responding (hang) while displaying the following error message on a blue screen:
STOP: 0x0000001E
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when your display settings are set to use the default VGA video driver.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, change your display settings to a video driver other than the default VGA video driver. To change the video driver, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Click Display Type.
  4. In the Adapter Type box, click Change.
  5. Click the appropriate manufacturer and model for your display adapter.
  6. Click OK or Close until you return to Control Panel. If you are prompted to restart your computer, do so.
