PRJ: Unassigned Resource Has Wrong Work and Cost in Pool

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, if you view a resource pool in Resource Usage view, you may see incorrect work and cost values for the Unassigned resource.

NOTE: The incorrect work and cost values you see will not affect the project total work and cost. The values displayed are not included in the calculations of the totals.

CAUSE

This occurs when the pool is open, but the files that use the resource pool are not.

WORKAROUND

To resolve this problem, open the files that use the pool. This causes the pool to be updated to display the correct information.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
