SNA DDM Service Fails to Release Handles
This article was previously published under Q183578
DDMServ.exe, a service of the SNA DDM Service, fails to release one handle
per connection. There is a minor memory leak of about 4 bytes per
connection. This problem most likely appears during stress testing or other
periods of very heavy usage.
You can confirm this problem by using either Task Manager or Performance
Monitor during periods of very heavy utilization, such as stress testing.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft OLE DB
Provider for AS/400 and VSAM version 1.0, included with Microsoft SNA
Server version 4.0.
This problem was corrected in the latest SNA Server version 4.0 U.S.
Service Pack. For information on obtaining this Service Pack, query on

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
