ACC2000: Error Message Clicking Start Page on Web Toolbar
This article was previously published under Q197221
Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.
When you try to open a Home page by clicking the
Start Page button on the
Web toolbar in Microsoft Access, you may receive the following error message:
Unable to open http://. Cannot connect to the Internet server.
The Home page address in your Web browser is set to http://.
Create a valid Home page for your Web browser. Then you will be able to
start your Web browser with this page when you click the
Start Page button on the
Web toolbar.
When you start a Web browser, the Start page is the first page that appears
in the browser. You can set this page to any Web site that you want, or to a database object in Microsoft Access. To create a Start page, follow these
steps:
- In Microsoft Access, open the database, or the table, query, form, or report in the database that you want to use as the Start page.
- On the Web toolbar, click Go, and then click Set Start Page.
- When you are prompted with the message about setting your Start page,
click Yes.
NOTE: When you change the Start page by using the Web toolbar in an Office program, the new Start page used in your Office program is also used in your Web browser if the browser is compatible with Office.
For more information about the Start Page, click
Microsoft Access Help on the
Help menu, type
open the web start page in the Office Assistant or
the Answer Wizard, and then click
Search to view the topics
returned.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
