ACC2000: Standard Toolbar Not Available in Microsoft Access

This article was previously published under Q198666

On This Page

SYMPTOMS

Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

In the Customize dialog box, the option Standard and Formatting toolbars share one row on the Options tab is dimmed. This option is never selectable because Access does not have a Standard toolbar.

CAUSE

Microsoft Access shares the toolbar Customize dialog box with the other components of Microsoft Office and, because the option does not apply to Access, it is dimmed. The standard toolbar in Access is called the Database toolbar.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
