XL2000: Status Bar Text Not Displayed When You Point to Toolbar or Menu Item
This article was previously published under Q213753
In Microsoft Excel 2000, when you run a macro that sets the
StatusBar property to display descriptive text when the pointer rests over a toolbar button or menu command, you don't see the descriptive text in the status bar.
This behavior is different than Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0 and earlier versions.
The design was changed in Microsoft Excel 97, which behaves similarly to Excel 2000.
In versions of Microsoft Excel earlier than Excel 97, you can set status bar text for a Visual Basic for Applications procedure, and the status bar text for the procedure appears in the status bar when you place your mouse pointer over the toolbar button or menu item that runs the procedure.
In Microsoft Excel 2000, if you have a Visual Basic for Applications
procedure that has the
StatusBar parameter set, the parameter is ignored.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Excel 2000 Standard Edition

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
