When inserting a chart in Word 2007 or PowerPoint 2007 you receive a message "Some chart types cannot be combined with other chart types." and the chart is not inserted
When you try to insert a chart in Word 2007 or PowerPoint 2007 you receive the following error message:
"Some chart types cannot be combined with other chart types. Select a different chart type."
Word 2007 and PowerPoint 2007 are launching the chart feature based on the current installed version. This is a known issue.
There is no resolution. However, you can workaround this by running a repair on Office 2007. Caution, this is not recommended since you are re-registering a previous version of Office which may cause problems with the later version's features/components.
Refer to KB
928091 for more information.
Only occurs if you have Office 2007 and 2010 installed on the same computer and Office 2010 was the last version installed or repaired.
This only occurs for the newer Excel charts used when inserting charts from the Ribbon under Insert tab; Chart command, and not the older OLE charts available under the Insert tab, Object command as Object Type "Microsoft Office Excel Chart".
