MOSS 2007 Explorer view does not work when farm is on Windows Server 2008 R2
A SharePoint 2007 Server running on Server 2008 R2 is seeing the following issues:
- Explorer View on Libraries does not work.
- Using UNC Paths to access List/Libraries in SharePoint does not work.
- Syncing OneNote to SharePoint Libraries does not work.
WebDav component of Server 2008 R2 causes this issue
Disabling the component is not enough, it must be removed completely from IIS using the following steps:
- Open Server Manager
- On the left side of the pane click on Roles
- Scroll down to the "Role Services" section, and click on "Remove Role Services"
- Under "web server" uncheck the box next to "WebDav Publishing"
- Choose Next, then choose Remove
- A reboot will be required

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
