Pictures are inserted at wrong size in Publisher 2000
This article was previously published under Q218694
When you insert picture files created or edited in other applications, the picture files may be inserted at different sizes. Pictures may come in very large, or slightly smaller than they were originally defined in another application.
Microsoft Publisher imports picture files at screen resolution . Picture files that were saved at a resolution equal to the current screen resolution should import at a 1:1 ratio. Images generated at a higher resolution than current screen resolution will appear larger when imported into Publisher. Some web images, generated at a lower resolution than current screen resolution , will appear slightly smaller than the original picture files.
You can use any of the following methods to workaround this problem:
- Save your picture in another application at the same resolution as your screen resolution to ensure its imported into Publisher at a 1:1 ratio.
- Resize your picture files inside Microsoft Publisher. To resize picture files, use the ruler. To make the ruler visible, on the View menu, click Rulers.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Publisher 2000. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Publisher 2002.

correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
