This article describes how to use the
Auto Thumbnail option.
Use the Auto Thumbnail Option from Pictures Toolbar
- On the Insert menu in Page view, point to Picture, and click ClipArt.
NOTE: If you have a picture in the current Web that you want to convert to a thumbnail, click From File. - Click the picture. The Picture toolbar appears.
- To use the Auto Thumbnail option, the picture that you insert must meet the following criteria:
- The image must be bigger than the auto thumbnail size that is selected (there are several size choices; on the Tools menu, click Page Options, and then click the Auto Thumbnail tab for details).
- The image must not be an animation (for example, an animated GIF).
- The image must not be linked already to something.
- The image must not have any imagemap hotspot hyperlinks.
Note: If the image does not meet all of the criteria, the Auto Thumbnail option will be unavailable (dimmed).
- Click the Auto Thumbnail button on the Pictures toolbar.
