FIX: Component Gallery Does Not Refresh After Changing Property
This article was previously published under Q221703
Changing the properties of a dynamic view folder in the Component Gallery will not be automatically reflected when the changes are applied. You must click on the dynamic folder in the treeview in order to see the property change in the Component Gallery.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This bug was corrected in Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 3.

HOWTO: Tell That Visual Studio 6.0 Service Packs Are Installed
Steps to Reproduce Behavior
- Start the Component Gallery.
- Make certain "Advanced editing" is enabled in the Options dialog.
- Create a new folder.
- Right-click this new folder and choose Properties.
- Select the Node tab in the Properties dialog.
- Enter a URL (such as http://www.microsoft.com) into the Dynamic folder text box.
- Click OK.
- Repeat steps 4 - 7 choosing a different URL (such as http://www.msn.com) this time.
After changing the URL, you will notice that the dynamic view does not update to display the new web site. Clicking on the dynamic view folder in the treeview will refresh the web view to display the new URL.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
