OFF2000: Motionless Office Assistant Is Always Installed to \Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office Folder
This article was previously published under Q228631
When you install the
Microsoft Office 2000 Resource Kit (ORK), the Motionless Office Assistant (Stillogo.acs) is unexpectedly installed to the \Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office folder. This occurs even though you installed Office to a different folder.
Because you do not need to have Office installed to install the ORK, the setup program for the ORK is designed to install Stillogo.acs into the \Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office folder. There is no mechanism in the ORK setup to detect an existing Office installation and install Stillogo.acs into a different Office folder.
Even though the ORK setup will install Stillogo.acs in a folder that may be different than the folder in which you installed Office, the Motionless Office Assistant will still be displayed in the Gallery of Office Assistants. If you installed Office into a non-default location and you move Stillogo.acs into the Office folder of this installation, the Motionless Office Assistant will not be displayed in the Gallery.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
