Problems in Microsoft Paint When Large Image Attribute Is Used
This article was previously published under Q232764
You may receive the following error message when you change the height or width attributes in Microsoft Paint:
Also, you may see a large black area on your screen and your computer may stop responding (hang).
This issue can occur if you enter a large value, such as 99999, in the Width box or the Height box in the Attributed dialog box.
To work around this issue, enter a smaller value in the
Width box or the
Height box. This setting is dependent upon memory and hard disk space. To gain access to these settings, click
Attributes on the
Image menu in Paint.
This behavior may be different for localized versions of Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition, or for different regional settings that you select during the installation of Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition
- Microsoft Windows 98 Standard Edition
Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
