How to uninstall Server Extensions
This article was previously published under Q234368
This article describes how to uninstall the FrontPage or
Office Server Extensions.
Note: The Server Extensions allow Microsoft Office, FrontPage, and
Visual InterDev to connect to the Web server. Removing the Server Extensions
will prevent these clients from connecting to this Web server until the Server
Extensions are reinstalled.
To remove the FrontPage or Office Server Extensions, do the
following.
First, unextend your servers by performing the following
steps:
- Click Start and point to Programs.
- Point to Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack.
- Point to Microsoft Internet Information Server and click Internet Service Manager.
- Right-click each virtual server and click Remove Server Extensions.
- When you have uninstalled from every virtual server, click Add\Remove snap-in on the Console menu.
- Remove Microsoft Server Extensions from the Standalone tab and uncheck FrontPage Server Extensions from the Extensions tab.
- Click OK, close the MMC, and save changes
Now, uninstall the extensions by doing the following:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Highlight the Office Server Extensions or the FrontPage
2000 Extensions.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
