You receive no prompts when you install an administrative installation of an Office 2000 family product
This article was previously published under Q234804
When you perform an Administrative installation of a
Microsoft Office 2000 family product, you are not prompted for your company
name or your CD Key. Also, you are not prompted for a location to place the
Administrative installation, and the Administrative installation has been
placed on your hard disk.
This problem occurs when you try to perform an
Administrative installation from an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)
version of one of the Microsoft Office 2000 family products.
To resolve this problem, purchase a retail copy of the
Microsoft Office 2000 family product along with the appropriate number of
licenses. You must have one license for each user who is using a copy of a
Microsoft Office 2000 family product from an Administrative installation point.
The following OEM Microsoft Office 2000 family products are
not designed to perform an Administrative installation:
- Microsoft Office 2000 Standard
- Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business Edition
- Microsoft Office 2000 Professional
- Microsoft Office 2000 Developer

- Microsoft Word 2000

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
