"The specified directory service server is not available" error message when you try to use SSL to connect to a domain controller in Office SharePoint Server 2007
In Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, when you use Secure Sockets Layer (
SSL) to connect to a domain controller, the connection cannot be established. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
The specified directory service server is not available. Please confirm that you entered the correct server name and port setting. If you are using SSL, please ensure that the specified directory service server has the correct certificates installed.
To resolve this problem, install the following hotfix package:
