Some features do not appear in the Microsoft Office 2000: Selecting Features dialog box when you install Office 2000
This article was previously published under Q243016
When you install Office 2000, you do not see the following features displayed in the
Microsoft Office 2000: Selecting Features dialog box:
- Microsoft Find Fast Control Panel (listed under Office Tools)
- Converters for Search Tools (listed under Converters and Filters -- Text Converters)
You do not see these features in the
Microsoft Office 2000: Selecting Features dialog box if you are using Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows XP. These features are intentionally hidden and turned off (disabled) on this version of Windows.
The Setup logic for Office 2000 intentionally turns off and hides the Find Fast Control Panel and the Converters for Search Tools when Office 2000 detects that you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
