How To Determine Which Version of Microsoft Active Accessibility Is Installed
This article was previously published under Q244822
This article describes how to determine whether Microsoft Active Accessibility is installed on a computer, and if so, which version is installed.
To determine whether Active Accessibility is installed on a Windows 95- or Windows 98-based computer, check the System directory for the Oleacc.dll file. For Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 (SP4) and later, check for the Oleacc.dll file in the System32 directory. If this file is not found, Active Accessibility is not installed.
For Active Accessibility version 1.2 and later, use the
GetOleaccVersionInfo function to programmatically determine which version of the Software Development Kit (SDK) is installed on a computer. Please consult the documentation in MSDN for more information on how to use the
GetOleaccVersionInfo function.
For earlier versions of Active Accessibility, use the
GetFileVersionInfo function to extract the version information from the Oleacc.dll file.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
