OFF2000: MSDN CD Not Recognized When You Apply the Office 2000 ODBC Vulnerability Update

SYMPTOMS

When you double-click Jetcopkg.exe to install the Microsoft Office 2000 ODBC Vulnerability Update, you are prompted to insert Microsoft Office 2000 Disc 2. When you insert the disc, you receive the following error message:
Please insert the disk: Microsoft Office 2000 Disc 2.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you have installed Microsoft Office 2000 Disc 2 from the Office Test Platform & Development Tools CD that is included as Disc 20 in the October 1999 Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) distribution.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Click Cancel when you are prompted to insert Microsoft Office 2000 Disc 2.
  2. Click Yes when asked if you are sure that you want to cancel.
The installation of the Office 2000 ODBC Vulnerability Update has been completed successfully.

NOTE: If you repair your Office installation by clicking Detect and Repair on the Help menu in Microsoft Publisher or you click Repair Office in maintenance mode for Microsoft Office 2000 Disc 2, the Office 2000 ODBC Vulnerability Update may replace files with earlier versions of the files. Microsoft recommends that you reapply the Office 2000 ODBC Vulnerability Update after you repair your Office installation.
