PRJ: Text Drawn in Front of Other Objects When Printed or Previewed
This article was previously published under Q245876
In Microsoft Project, when you print or print preview a project in the Gantt Chart view, text may be printed in front of Gantt Chart objects, although the text is displayed behind the Gantt Chart objects in the Gantt Chart view.
For example, when you view the Gantt Chart in Microsoft Project 2000, a deadline indicator may be drawn over a Gantt Bar's text. When you print or print preview the same Gantt Chart, the deadline indicator is drawn behind the Gantt Bar text.
This behavior may occur when you print or print preview a Gantt Chart view and the following conditions are true:
- Text is displayed next to a Gantt bar.
- The text is drawn in the same location as another Gantt Bar object.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
