Terminal Server Ignores NumberOfRings Parameter, Answering on First Ring Only
This article was previously published under Q261278
Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) client dial-in connections are always answered on the first ring. You cannot configure Terminal Server to answer after a different number of rings.
In Windows 2000, you can use the following registry entry to configure the number of rings:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\Parameters\NumberOfRings
This entry has no effect in Terminal Server.
The Telephony API services in Terminal Server do not check the configuration data in the registry setting listed in the "Symptoms" section.
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the

and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
