SYMPTOMS

When you are using the Computer Associates file transfer utility ControlIT, version 4.5, to transfer a file from a host computer to a client computer, you may receive the following error message:
Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module rp32exp.dll

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, contact Computer Associates to obtain ControlIT version 5.0 or later.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, edit the registry to change the FT32 value.

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.


  1. Start Registry Editor.
  2. Locate the HKLM\Software\ComputerAssociates\Controlit\FILETRANSFER key.
  3. Change the FT32 value to 1.
