Graph 2000: Graph Font Changes from Sans Serif to Serif

This article was previously published under Q262472

SYMPTOMS

A sans serif font in the metafile (picture) representation of a Microsoft Graph 2000 object changes to a serif font after you do the following:
  1. Change the font size to be smaller than 8 points.
  2. Save, close, and then reopen the document.
  3. Double-click the object.
  4. Press ESC or click outside the chart so that the object is no longer active.

CAUSE

When the effective point size (actual size plus zoom) is 6 points or less, Graph 2000 substitutes Small Fonts for the on-screen font.

NOTE: Because a screen metafile uses the same fonts as the screen, a screen metafile shows the substitution; however, a printer metafile does not do font substitution. Scroll down to the heading "When you print your document, it does not appear the same way as it does on the screen."
