SYMPTOMS

When you install Windows Millennium Edition (Me) you may experience a Fatal Exception error and be unable to continue with setup.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your sound card uses the Aureal Vortex 1 drivers.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, you may need to obtain the latest drivers for your sound card from the sound card manufacturer. The following is a list of cards that are based on the Aureal A3D chipset..
  • Diamond Multimedia
  • Hi-Val
  • I/O Magic
  • Turtle Beach
  • TerraTec Promedia
  • Videologic
  • Xitel
