Peachtree 2000 Stops When You Print a Report, Error Message Appears When You Try to Change Printer

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to print a report in the Peachtree 2000 program by pressing F2 or clicking <F2>Print in the Printer Characteristics dialog box, the Peachtree 2000 program may stop responding (hang). However, if you click items in the Printer Characteristics dialog box and then attempt to change the printer in the Direct Output To box, you may receive the following error message:
Illegal function call
When you click OK, the Peachtree 2000 program closes.

CAUSE

This issue can occur because you do not have a printer installed on your computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install a printer on your computer, and then print.

MORE INFORMATION

To install a printer, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Double-click Add Printer, and then follow the instructions in the Add Printer Wizard to install the appropriate printer driver.
