SYMPTOMS

During the upgrade to Windows Millennium Edition, you receive the following message:
Setup detects a version of the 3Com Diagnostic Communications Module that is not compatible with Windows Millennium. This software will be removed at this time.
You can click either OK or Cancel. By default, the OK button is selected. If you press the ENTER key at this time with OK highlighted, Setup quits and your system returns to the previous version of Windows.

Pressing ENTER at this time cancels Setup, and is not the same as clicking OK on the dialog box.

WORKAROUND

If you use the space bar or the mouse to click OK, Setup continues.
