This article was previously published under Q282399
Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.
This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and to a Microsoft Access project (.adp).
When you start Microsoft Access, the focus is on the task pane rather than on the main menu bar. As a result, the mouse pointer is not able to select the menu headings.
Click anywhere in the main window to bring the menu bar into focus.
Steps to Reproduce Behavior
- Start Access.
- Before clicking anything, point your mouse at File, Edit, View or any of the other headings on the main menu bar.
Notice that none of them are selected as expected. - Click your mouse in the main window and point to any of the menu bar headings.
Note that they are now selected as you point at them.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Access 2002 Standard Edition
Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
