OFFXPDEV: Microsoft Access Runtime Is listed in the Microsoft Office Activation Wizard
This article was previously published under Q287055
In Reduced Functionality mode, the
Microsoft Office Activation Wizard is displayed. It lists
Microsoft Access 2002 Runtime. This suggests that the Runtime version has to be activated.
Microsoft Access 2002 Runtime does not have to be activated.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Office XP Developer.
Steps to Reproduce the Behavior
- Install a Microsoft Access 2002 package that you created by using Microsoft Office XP Developer.
- On a clean computer, install Microsoft Office XP, but do not activate the product.
- To force Reduced Functionality mode, start Microsoft Access 2002 fifty times, each time selecting not to activate the product.
Note that the Microsoft Office Activation Wizard lists Microsoft Access 2002 Runtime.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Office XP Developer Edition
- Microsoft Office XP
- Microsoft Access 2002 Standard Edition
Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
