Description: Cluster Membership Server Failed
Event Type: Error
The cluster member
%ServerName% did not respond to the cluster heartbeat (ping) from the cluster controller and is considered to be in the failed state. Determine if the member is running and if it has reliable network connectivity to the controller.
Meaning: The cluster member is not active.
Effect: Tasks cannot be performed on the cluster member by the cluster controller, nor can the member handle requests, until the problem is fixed.
Possible Causes and SolutionsServer not available: Either the member is not turned on or it has been renamed.
Network failure: A network failure ended the connection between the controller and the member.
Hardware failure: A hardware failure has occurred, such as a disk or network adapter failure.
Other Solutions (listed in order of preference):- Restart the computer.
- Use the Support Online link in the Events view.
