WD2002: Macros in Arabic and Hebrew Support.dot Template Do Not Run
This article was previously published under Q293451
NOTE: This article discusses complex scripts functionality. Complex scripts functionality is available when you use the Office Language Settings tool to enable a language, such as Arabic or Hebrew, that requires this functionality. For more information about multilingual features, click Microsoft <I BRACKET="YES">your Office product</I> Help on the Help menu, type multilingual features in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topics that are returned.
When you click one of the buttons in the Arabic or Hebrew version of the Word 2002 Support.dot template, nothing happens. The macros that are supposed to run do not run.
The names of the button controls do not match the names of the macros assigned to them.
To work around this problem, assign the correct names to the buttons:
- Open the Support.dot template. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the File menu, click Open.
- In the Files of type list, select Document Templates (*.dot).
- In the Look in box, select the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Macros\
- Select the Support.dot file, and then click Open.
- On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Control Toolbox.
- On the Control Toolbox command bar, click Design Mode.
- Right-click one of the buttons and then click Properties on the menu that appears.
- Change the (Name) property from "1" to the correct name shown in the following table:

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
