Access violation when you use DbOrderPromoADO pipeline component on Commerce Server 2002 Service Pack 1

The DbOrderPromoADO component does not work on Microsoft Commerce
Server 2002 Service Pack 1 (SP1). When a promotion is applied to a Basket Item in the
OrderForm object, the
Item dictionary object is incorrectly deleted. The next time a
Pipeline component tries to use this Basket Item, an access violation occurs.
When a promotion is applied to a Basket Item, the pipeline
component incorrectly releases the Component Object Model (COM) interface
pointer to the Basket
Item dictionary object twice. As a result, the COM object is deleted,
and the
OrderForm dictionary object reference to this Basket Item is no longer
valid.

How to obtain the latest Commerce Server 2002 service pack
The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the
Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
