PPT2001: How to Insert an iMovie into a Presentation
This article was previously published under Q301491
This article describes how to place an Apple iMovie into a presentation.
Typically, you cannot insert an iMovie, because iMovies use the Apple Digital Video format, which is not compatible with QuickTime. However, this article demonstrates how to export your iMovie into a format that is compatible with QuickTime.
To export an iMovie Project in a QuickTime compatible format, follow these steps:
- In iMovie, click Open Project on the File menu, and open your project.
- Locate the iMovie project that you want to export, click to select it, and then click Open.
- On the File menu, click Export Movie.
- Change the Export option from "To Camera" to "To QuickTime".
- Under Format, select an output format, or if you select Expert, please refer to the Apple documentation for iMovie, and how to export projects by using the expert QuickTime settings.
- After you make your export choices, click Export.
- Type a name for the movie, and place the movie in the same folder as your presentation.
You can now insert the movie into any presentation that is running under Mac OS.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
