Search of Indexed Lotus Notes Database May Return Incorrect Links

This article was previously published under Q308478

SYMPTOMS

The Lotus Notes content source is usually indexed. However, a search result may return incorrect Uniform Resource Locator (URL) links. If you try to use these URLs, you may receive an "HTTP 500 - Internal server error" browser error message.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if:
  • The URL is missing a Lotus Notes Domino parameter that controls the action that should be performed on the object that is returned. For example, the ?OpenDocument parameter should be appended to the URL of any document that you find by using the database default view. -or-

  • The URL includes the $defaultview attribute. A Lotus Notes database always has a default view, but the default view result set does not necessarily contain the document that is specified in the URL.

RESOLUTION
