XADM: Microsoft Search and Catalog Objects May Be Missing from Performance Monitor

In Exchange 2000 Server, when you open Performance Monitor to watch Catalog Indexing performance, you may discover that the following two Performance Monitor objects are missing:
- Microsoft Search
- Microsoft Search Catalogs

To work around this behavior, recycle the MSSearch service.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 2.
