Zoo Tycoon requires a personal computer with the following minimum requirements.
  • Multimedia personal computer with Pentium 233 megahertz (MHz) processor (300 MHz or higher recommended.)
  • Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 95 OSR2, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition, Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), Microsoft Windows 2000, or Microsoft Windows XP.
  • 32 megabytes (MB) of RAM recommended (128 MB recommended for Windows XP).
  • 250 MB of available hard disk space for a minimum installation (requires CD in the CD-ROM drive to play the game); 350 MB for a full installation. 150 MB of available hard disk space for a cache file.
  • 4x CD-ROM drive or higher.
  • Super VGA video display with 4 MB of VRAM, capable of supporting 800 x 600 resolutions in 16-bit color.
  • Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device.
  • Sound card and speakers or headphones (recommended for hearing audio).
  • From the CD-ROM, Direct X 8.0a is required.

Zoo Tycoon: Marine Mania and Zoo Tycoon: Dinosaur Digs Expansion Pack

The minimum system requirements for Zoo Tycoon: Marine Mania and Zoo Tycoon: Dinosaur Digs Expansion Pack are:
  • You must install Zoo Tycoon 1.0 before you install Zoo Tycoon Marine Mania or Zoo Tycoon: Dinosaur Digs Expansion Pack.
  • Multimedia personal computer with a Pentium 233 or higher processor.
  • Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition, Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), Microsoft Windows 2000, or Microsoft Windows XP.
  • 64 MB of RAM (128 MB required for Windows XP).
  • 500 MB of available hard disk space.
  • 150 MB of available hard disk space for a cache file.
  • 4x CD-ROM drive.
  • Super VGA video display with 4 MB of VRAM.
  • Keyboard and Microsoft (or compatible) pointing device.
  • Sound card and speakers or headphones (recommended for hearing audio).
  • Direct X 8.0a (included on game CD).

Zoo Tycoon: Complete Collection

  • Multimedia PC with a 233 MHz processor, 300 MHz recommended.
  • Microsoft® Windows® XP, Windws 2000, Windows Millennium Edition (Me), and Windows 98.
  • 64 MB for Windows 98, Windows Millennium Edition (Me), and Windows 2000.
  • 128 MB for Windows XP.
  • 1.4 gigabytes (GB) of available hard-drive space.
  • 4 X or higher CD-ROM drive.
  • Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device.
  • Super VGA video display capable of 800 x 600 resolution.
  • Audio board and speakers are recommended.
