BUG: Orchestration Designer Closes If You Try to Print When No Printer Is Installed
This article was previously published under Q312701
In BizTalk Orchestration Designer, if you click
Print on the
File menu when no printer is installed, Orchestration Designer closes, and then you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Visio has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
This error occurs in the BizTalk Orchestration Designer if Microsoft Visio 2002 is installed on the same computer as BizTalk Orchestration Designer.
To work around this problem, install a default printer before you try to print from the BizTalk Orchestration Designer.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
If this error occurs on the French version of Visio 2002, you may be unable to start BizTalk Orchestration Designer again. If this occurs, verify that a
hidden .vss file does not exist in the following folder:
\Program Files\Microsoft BizTalk Server\XLANG Scheduler\
Delete this hidden file, and then try to start the BizTalk Orchestration Designer again.
IMPORTANT: Do not remove other .vss files in the above-mentioned folder.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 Standard Edition
- Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002 Standard Edition
Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
