PRB: Orchestration Designer Loads Slowly

This article was previously published under Q312703

SYMPTOMS

The BizTalk Orchestration Designer may take an unusually long time to start. This problem occurs if Orchestration Designer is running on Microsoft Visio 2002.

CAUSE

This delay occurs because Visio 2002 is trying to obtain information about the current default printer. Visio 2002 can take a long time to obtain information about the default printer if the default printer is a network printer, and if the network connection to that printer is slow.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, set the default printer to a local printer or a network printer that has a fast network connection to the BizTalk Server computer.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002 Standard Edition
