When you install Microsoft Office XP Developer Edition Service Pack 1 (SP-1), Service Pack 1 does not update the Access 2002 run-time components to the SP-1 level. Also, this service pack does not upgrade Access 2002 run-time applications that are already installed to the Access 2002 SP-1 level.
If you try to install Microsoft Office XP Developer SP-1 on a computer that has an Access 2002 run-time application, you may receive the following message:
The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.
If you try to install the Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 1 on a computer that has an Access 2002 run-time application, you may receive the following message:
The expected version of the product was not found on your system.
The primary purpose of the Office XP Developer SP-1 is to make it possible for the Office XP Developer tools to continue to function when Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and Office XP Developer SP-1 are installed on the same computer.
