STS: Users Cannot Connect to the SharePoint Team Web Site
This article was previously published under Q317311
After you add users to your SharePoint team Web site, those users may be unable to connect to the Web site. Also, after you add a new user role, the
Team Contributor Rights list may not appear in the
Add a Role page.
This behavior can occur if the team contributor rights are not activated on the server. As a result, these rights are unavailable, and you cannot use them for any role or assign them to any user of the server.
To resolve this issue, activate the team contributor rights on the server. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Microsoft SharePoint Administrator.
- Click Set list of available rights.
- Click to select all the check boxes that are listed under Team Contributor Rights, and then click Submit.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
