Description of the Microsoft Project Server architecture and extensibility

The Microsoft Project Server database architecture is a superset of the database schemas used in Microsoft Project 2000 and Microsoft Project Central. It features increased scalability, increased performance, and other increased functionality.
Microsoft Project 2002 and Microsoft Office Project 2003 provide a highly scalable enterprise project management solution that includes the following products:
Microsoft Project Server 2002 and Microsoft Office Project Server 2003
Microsoft Project Web Access
Microsoft Project Professional 2002
and Microsoft Office Project Professional 2003
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 provides the database tier for Microsoft Project Server, and Microsoft Project Web Access provides the browser-based client for collaboration with resources and management. Microsoft Project Professional is the desktop client that provides powerful scheduling and planning tools for the creation and modification of project plans and enterprise resources.
