FIX: The /Ot optimization switch generates incorrect code for SHx structures that are passed by value

SYMPTOMS

When you use Hitachi SHx processors, and if you specify the /Ot optimization switch, incorrect code is generated. This incorrect code is generated when a structure is passed to a function by value. This behavior may cause exceptions or may cause application values that are not valid.

Note This problem does not occur if the structure is passed to a function by address.

RESOLUTION

A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 3.0 Core OS QFE 327588. To resolve this problem immediately, click the following article number for information about obtaining Windows CE Platform Builder and core operating system software updates:

Prerequisites

This fix is supported only when all previously issued fixes for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this hotfix, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu.

You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this fix.
