FIX: Internet Explorer 5.5 for Windows CE does not behave as expected

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 for Microsoft Windows CE does not behave as expected:
  • The window.open() function incorrectly creates blank windows.
  • Internet Explorer stops responding when you cancel the Print dialog box.
  • Internet Explorer skips an item on a Web page. This behavior occurs when you use the TAB key to move through the items on a Web page and when the TV-style navigation feature is turned on. When you press the TAB key to move forward, the first item is skipped. When you press the SHIFT+TAB key combination to move backward, the last item is skipped.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 4.0 Core OS QFE 328271. To resolve this problem immediately, click the following article number for information about obtaining Windows CE Platform Builder and core operating system software updates:

Prerequisites

This fix is supported only when all previously issued fixes for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this hotfix, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu.

You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this fix.

Hotfix replacement information

This fix does not replace any other fixes.
