When you preview an imported Word Web page in FrontPage 2003 in a browser, the background is missing
After you import a Microsoft Word Web page that contains a
theme into your Microsoft FrontPage 2003 Web, the page background may not
appear when you preview the page in your Web browser.
This problem occurs because the
_themes
folder (thicket folder) is not imported into FrontPage when you import the Word
Web page.
To work around this problem, use one of the following
methods.
Method 1: Save the Themed Word Web Page to Your Web Folder
To save a themed Word Web page to your Web folder, follow these
steps:
- Open your Word Web page.
- On the File menu, click Save
As.
- In the Save As dialog box, change the
Save in box to your Web folder, and then click
Save.
For example, change the Save
in box to the following location:\My Documents\My Webs\My Web\
- If you are prompted that the file already exists, click
Replace existing file, and then click
OK.
- On the File menu, click
Exit to quit Word.
When you preview the Word Web page in your browser from
FrontPage, the Web page now shows the theme background.
Method 2: Reapply the Theme
To reapply the theme to the Word Web page, follow these steps:
- In FrontPage, right-click the Word Web page in your Web
folder list, point to Open With, and then click
Microsoft Word.
- After the page is open in Word, on the
Format menu, click Theme.
- In the Theme dialog box, click the theme
that you want to apply in the Choose a Theme list, and then
click OK.
- On the File menu, click
Save.
- Click Yes when you receive the following
message:
This web page was created by another Office
application and may contain information which will be lost upon saving in the
current application. To preserve the initial web page, click No to exit this
dialog, then save the web page under a different name.
Do you want to
overwrite it?
- On the File menu, click
Exit.
When you preview the Word Web page in your browser from
FrontPage, the Web page now shows the theme background.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
