System locale of the exchange recovery and original servers should be matched
When you restore an Exchange 2000 database on a recovery server you cannot mount the database and you receive the following event in the application event log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: ESE
Event Category: General
Event ID: 604
Description: Information Store (668) Locale ID 0x00000nnn (LocaleName)
is either invalid or not installed on this machine.
The system local on the origional server from where the database was backed up has the system local set as Arabic Default
Enable the Arabic language for the system local and set it as default on the recovery server using the following steps:
How to Enable Arabic Support In Windows 2000:
- Click "Start", point to "Settings", and then click "Control Panel".
- Double-click the "Regional Options" icon.
- In the "Regional Options" dialog box, click to select the "Arabic"
check box.
- Click the "Set default" button.
- In the "Select System Local" dialog box, click "Arabic", and then
click "OK".
- In the "Regional Options" dialog box, click "Apply".
- When you receive the following message, click "Yes":
Required files are already
installed on your hard disk. Setup can use these existing files, or Setup can
recopy them from your original Windows CD-ROM or from a network
share.

files? (If you click No, you will be prompted to insert your Windows CD-ROM or
to supply a different location where the files can be
found.)
