You receive an "Error on page link doesn't work" error message when you click Help in your SharePoint Web site
On a new Web page that you created on your SharePoint Web
site, when you click
Help, you receive the following error
message:
"Error on Page". Link doesn't
work.
This problem occurs if you have added a custom links
navigation bar with the
SharePoint Top Nav Bar property to
your Microsoft SharePoint Web page. The
Help link has to have
JScript and a link to the Owsbrows.js file. This link is not created
automatically.
To work around this problem, create the required link to the
Owsbrows.js file. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open your Web page in Microsoft FrontPage
- At the bottom of the Web page pane, click
Split.
- In the top pane (code pane) of the split screen, click to
insert the pointer before the </head> tag, and then type
<script
src="http://support.microsoft.com/_layouts/1033/owsbrows.js"></script>.
- Click File, click Save,
and then quit FrontPage.
Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003
- Microsoft Office Word 2003
- Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003
- Microsoft Office Excel 2003
- Microsoft SharePoint Team Services
Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
