SYMPTOMS

When you are trying to authenticate a wireless client, you may receive an "access violation" error message in Svchost.exe. This means that the Svchost.exe process terminates. (Svchost.exe runs the Remote Access Connection Manager service.) This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:
  • You are operating in an 802.11b standard wireless local area network (LAN).
  • You supply only the user ID and the password for authentication, without the domain name.
